"I can guarantee you. Read this book and you'll never look at Elvis the same way again!" -- Douglas Brode, author of Elvis Cinema and Popular Culture.
In 1970, singer Elvis Presley secretly met with President Richard Nixon. This new comedic novel imagines that Presley became a Central Intelligence Agency operative, eventually moving up through the ranks to become a skilled assassin.
Presented in an oral history fashion, the book tells us about Presley's secret transformation by the people who knew him best.
Did he fake his death in 1977? Was Presley involved with the Watergate scandal? The Iran hostage crisis? Communicating with aliens?
Read this book to find out the answers to these and many more questions.

Hunka hunka burning spy
By D. Hayes
I love these types of books but they are rarely done well. Oral history style, historical mash ups. The real sad part is there aren't that many of them because they are difficult to write. Andy Rausch has seen to that, though. As a minor Elvis fan (I don't dislike anything the man has done but don't salivate) I think the true success of this book is how Rausch keeps it relevant to non-fanatics. The King is represented well and true to at least the public perception of the icon and the procedural/action material works on two levels: viscerally paced and judiciously edited. I really enjoyed the book and it is a unique little entry in the burgeoning genre of 'famous people do cool things.' There will be inevitable comparisons to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and World War Z but they are apples and oranges. Elvis Presley: CIA Assassin has heart. It is more comparable to Joe Lansdale's/Don Coscarelli's Bubba Ho Tep... which is a huge compliment.

What a fun read! Hilarious!
By Jannie Pie
I'm an Elvis fan, so I was really looking forward to reading this. It sounded like a hoot, and it is! It's a fictitious piece, presented as an oral history, and while those can be confusing at times, that's not the case here. I didn't have to refer back to the character list at all. The narrative was easy to follow. The storyline developed well. The pace of the book was so quick and clever that I had a hard time putting it down. And it is HILARIOUS!!! I don't want to say too much or give anything away. I hope you'll treat yourself to a good time and lots of laughs and read this. I'm glad that I did. Enjoy!

Wacky and wild
By Sharon Bayliss
Told in mockumentary style (what's the book word for that?), Elvis Presley CIA Assassin tells the story of an Elvis who dreams of being a CIA assassin, and is willing to do anything to achieve this dream. The story is written as a fake non-fiction story from the perspectives of the people closest to Elvis, and includes fake transcripts and letters. All in all, it's very unique.
The story is hilarious, clever, and the author has a great voice. It's just so creative. Not like anything I've read before. I will say, the Elvis the author creates is a despicable psychopath, and I did find his behavior tiring at times. It's tough to have a book centered around such an unlikable protagonist.
If you're a fan of edgy humor, and authors such as Ryan Hill and William Vitka, I think you'll enjoy this too.
